Let’s face it, the holidays can be extremely stressful. There is a magic in the air, but sometimes that magic gets lost among all the hustle and bustle of the season. Here are 4 quick tips to help your survive, and even enjoy, this holiday season.
1)Making a List and Checking it Twice
Lists can be a really helpful way to get you feeling organized and set out your priorities. Write yourself a list of everything you wish to accomplish – no matter how big or small the task may seem! You can write an overall task list for the week or month, and then break it down further into a daily check list. Write your main priorities first, and the smaller things last – this will help you accomplish those big projects right away. And the best part of lists? There is no greater feeling than crossing off those tasks and seeing the ‘to do list’ dwindle!
2)Run, Run Rudolph
Make sure to stick with your exercise routine and you will reap the many benefits of keeping active during the holiday season. One obvious benefit is working off all those extra holiday calories and not getting too far off track! Sticking with your fitness plan also gives you a routine to follow and allows a sense of control over a hectic time of the year. And who doesn’t love the extra endorphins exercise gives to keep you jolly all holiday long?!
At the end of a busy day full of checking things off your lists and exercising, that bed will be calling your name. Feel free to enjoy that much deserved rest and get a good nights sleep. With holiday parties and extra preparations, it is easy to take time from your sleep schedule, but try to limit how much sleep you shave away. Sleep is time for your body to recover, and you don’t want to feel run down, or even get sick, before the main event (especially after putting in such hard work)!
4)’Tis the Season to be Jolly
When it comes down it, the holiday season is meant to be a time of joy. Take some time to just enjoy the season along with family and friends. Things might not go as planned, and you might forget to make that adorable centrepiece, or burn a batch of cookies, but at the end of the day none of that really matters and no one is perfect. Change your mindset and remember how magical this time of year can truly be!
